Calculate your Life Path number
Your Life Path is calculated from your complete date of birth. It describes a central pattern of development: the qualities you are learning to use, the recurring lessons you may meet and the direction in which experience asks you to grow.
How it works
How to calculate a Life Path number
Add every digit in the day, month and year of birth, then reduce the total until one number remains. By Numbers preserves 11, 22 and 33 when they appear as the final total because these are traditionally treated as Master Numbers.
For example, 24 July 1990 becomes 2 + 4 + 0 + 7 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 32, then 3 + 2 = 5. The Life Path is 5.

What your Life Path means
Each number describes a different developmental emphasis: 1 initiative, 2 cooperation, 3 expression, 4 structure, 5 freedom, 6 responsibility, 7 understanding, 8 stewardship and 9 compassion. Master Numbers 11, 22 and 33 intensify particular themes while still containing the qualities of 2, 4 and 6.
A Life Path is not a prediction, diagnosis or complete personality description. It becomes more useful when read beside the numbers derived from your birth name.
Common questions
Life Path calculator FAQ
Do I use my birth date or today’s date?
Use the complete date on your birth record. A Life Path does not change from year to year.
Should Master Numbers be reduced?
By Numbers preserves 11, 22 and 33 when one appears as the final total. Other calculation traditions may use different conventions, which is why consistent methodology matters.
Is the Life Path my only numerology number?
No. It is one of five core numbers. Your Natural Abilities, Motivation and Personality numbers come from your birth name, while your Birthday number comes from the day of the month.
